BLACKBERRY COCONUT GUT REFRESH DRINK

Friends, we’ve been lied to. Well, maybe that’s extreme. But we certainly have not been served the whole story. When it comes to our guts, we know the baseline of it all - our digestive systems work to let us know when we’re hungry or full. We eat our food, we digest it, and it turns into energy that fuels us through the day.

But what if I told you the gut is so much more than that? What if I told you the foods we eat directly correlate with not only our overall health, but our moods? I feel like once you fully understand the power of the gut, you’ve unlocked a major life cheat code. But we’ve got plenty of time to get into all of that. The Mind-Gut Connection

If you’re like me and experience a lot of physical symptoms of anxiety and depression, this is for you. If you get bloated after every meal, even though you’re working out and “eating healthy”, this is for you. If you’re experiencing symptoms of IBS or other digestion issues, this is for you. Whether you realize it or not, your brain and your gut are besties. They tell each other everything they need to know about how they decide your body is going to function. So why don’t we start with something easy to get us started on making this a healthy relationship?

One of my favorite go to drinks is from Dr. Alejandro Junger’s book, Clean Eats. It’s a super quick and easy Blackberry Coconut Milkshake. This deliciously light drink is vegan and perfect for a digestive clean up. Drink this 2-3 times a week to start and notice how you’ve begin to pave the pathway for a healthy functioning gut. Recipe is below:

BLACKBERRY COCONUT MILKSHAKE

1 cup frozen blackberries

3/4 cup chilled unsweetened coconut milk

1 1/2 cups chilled coconut water

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extrac

2 pitted dates
