Vitamins you never knew to take for immunity

As someone who cares about their mind, body, and spirit (which, is why you’re even reading this), you know that a part of that is taking routine supplements. You and I have that in common. Staying on top of it with the basics; Vitamin C, D, multivitamins - the works. But last year when I tested positive for COVID, I knew I would have to go the extra mile during my quarantine to keep my symptoms at bay. So, I researched, spoke to my great grandmother who is a holistic healer, and ordered the some of the necessary nutriments.

I was very fortunate to remain fairly asymptomatic, which I attest to the vitamins taken during my diagnosis. Since then, I’ve incorporated these vitamins into my routine for overall wellness, some of which I did not take previous to my positive test. As cold & flu season gears up, plus the added layer of COVID still in the air, here are my top vitamins you never knew to take for your immune health.

CC-A respiratory support, great during cold and flu season for the lungs
  1. CC-A

Protecting our respiratory system during this time is key. Your respiratory system contains the organs and tissues that help you breath, including the muscle that powers your lungs. To come down with a cough when you’re sick is standard. But to help ease the symptoms, this helpful vitamin is packed with herbs like capsicum, yarrow, and goldenseal to keep you trucking along.

2. Oil of Oregano

Oil of oregano is that girl, period. Swimming in antioxidants, oil of oregano can help repair the body’s cells and help reduce signs of aging, plus, lower your risk of disease. We love to kill two birds with one stone! The taste will take some getting used to, but once you do, you’ll be obsessed. Bonus: no pill necessary!

3. TURMERIC

Turmeric has been used for centuries as a healing herb, and today, its power still holds true. Whether you take it in vitamin form, in your golden milk, or sprinkled into hot lemon water in the morning, turmeric is one of the most popular holistic players in the field. It helps in reducing inflammation, which in excess, cannot properly perform its role in protecting our bodies from infection and injury. Turmeric is also packed with probiotics, made up of all the good bacterias our bodies need.

4. ROSE HIP

Think of rose hips as vitamin C with good glam - she was already beautiful but this was definitely an enhancement! Rose hips help fight off invaders and out of control cells to keep your immune system top notch. Before buying a new supplement, check if your current Vitamin C on rotation has rose hips in it!

These are just some of a few of my personal favorites! Please always remember to do your own research and consult your doctor, especially if nursing or pregnant. For more links or the full vitamin link list click here.
